Add to your home screen and use it like an app

An app that opens in the browser needs no install. Add it to your home screen and it opens from an icon like any other app, using the whole screen with no address bar.

Android · ChromeSamsung, Pixel and other Android phones and tablets

  1. Open the app in Chrome.
  2. Tap the three-dot menu at the top right.
  3. Choose “Add to Home screen” or “Install app”.
  4. Check the name and tap “Add”. The icon appears on your home screen.

Android · Samsung InternetThe default browser on Galaxy phones

  1. Open the app in Samsung Internet.
  2. Tap the three-line menu at the bottom.
  3. Tap “Add page to” and choose “Home screen”.
  4. Tap “Add”. The icon appears on your home screen.

iPhone · iPad · SafariApple phones and tablets

  1. Open the app in Safari.
  2. Tap the Share button at the bottom center (a square with an arrow pointing up).
  3. Scroll down and choose “Add to Home Screen”.
  4. Tap “Add” at the top right. The icon appears on your home screen.

Chrome on iPhone has the same Share button with “Add to Home Screen”.

Once it's added

Opening it from the home-screen icon gives you the full screen, like an app. It opens without an internet connection, and when a new version is out, the app tells you.

Your entries are stored only inside that browser. Clearing the browser's site data clears the entries too, so check before you do.
